On Dec. 28, 2012, the construction of the ZIZHI Tunnel Project designed by Hydrochina Huadong was officially commenced. Mr. Shao Zhanwei, Mayor of Hangzhou City, Mr. Yang Xubiao, the executive vice Mayor, and Mr. Yu Donglai, the vice Mayor, inspected the construction site.

ZIZHI Tunnel, praised as the No.1 tunnel in Hangzhou, is presently one of the largest municipal traffic projects in Hangzhou even in Zhejiang Province. After completion, the tunnel will become one more traffic artery linking the south and north other than the 'Three Longitudinal and Five Transverse' urban expressway network in Hangzhou, realize rapid traffic between the northwest area and the Zhijiang Resort Zone, the Binjiang District and have great significancein promoting group urban scientific development, therefore, Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Hangzhou Municipal Government attach great importance to this project.
