On Jan. 21, 2013, Hydrochina Huadong and Tianjin ALSTOM Hydro Co., Ltd. were officially awarded the contract to supply complete electromechanical equipment for Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Project in Vietnam. They participated in the competitive bidding of the project in the consortium form. It is the 4^th contract obtained by the two parties to supply electromechanical equipment for Vietnamese hydropower stations through their cooperation in Vietnam hydropower market.

The grand contract signing ceremony was held in the office building of VINACOMIN POWER in Hanoi, Vietnam. The representatives from VINACOMIN, Hydrochina Huadong and Tianjin ALSTOM addressed the signing ceremony. They reviewed the bidding process of the project and expressed their confidence and good wishes to their sincere cooperation and jointly building a good project.

Located in the Dong Nai river basin in Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam, the Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Project is a cascade hydropower station on the Dong Nai River. It will be equipped with two 75MW Francis turbine-generator units, with a total installed capacity of 150MW. The construction of the civil works was commenced in December 2012, contracted by Vietnam‘s largest civil engineering contractor, SONG DA. It is scheduled to put into commercial operation in 2015.
