On March 30, the ZAWR Project Team of Hydrochina Huadong invited Jaco.visser, technical advisor of the HSE Department of Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCOIII), to give a training lecture on HSE management system. The training focused on “How to ensure employees alive?” and discussion was carried out on such essential elements as the organization, responsibilities, procedures, process and resources of the HSE management system from the four aspects of hazard identification, risk control, construction planning and safety management. The HSE management system, as a kind of modernized management pattern, emphasizes prevention and continuous improvement and has the mechanism of a high degree of self-discipline, self-improvement and self-motivation. SEPCOIII’s perfect HSE management system, clear flow and powerful execution will have good guidance significance for Hydrochina Huadong to plan and perform HSE management for its overseas EPC projects.

On April 19, the project team invited Xia Jingmin, director of the Quality Control Department of SEPCOIII to lecture on quality control of EPC projects. Combining theory with practice, he analyzed the management structure in the light of the problems encountered in operation of the ZAWR Project and comprehensively explained the key and difficult points in quality control from the aspects of the management system, the list of procedures, organizational structure and process interface, etc. Additionally, he generously shared his experience and lessons in quality control work, so that the trainees benefited a great deal.

The above-mentioned training and exchange increased in different degree the overseas project management experience of the members of the project team of Hydrochina Huadong. The team leader expressed that a series of training activities will be timely carried out as required so that the trip to Saudi Arabia will really become their successful exercise and learning experience of expanding their horizons, obtaining overseas management experience and promoting the transformation and developmentof Hydrochina Huadong.
