On May 28, 2013, in Chengdu, Hydropower and Water Resource Planning and Design General Institute hosted an acceptance meeting for the Jiangbian Hydropower Project on the Jiulong River in Sichuan Province. Representatives from all construction parties concerned reported their work at the meeting, and after discussion and consideration by all parties, the consensuswas reached on that the Jiangbian HPP passed acceptance.

Jiangbian HPP is the first wholly-owned large hydropower project built, managed and operated by CLP Group itself in China. The power station, as the largest hydropower project built with foreign capital in Sichuan Province, gained high attention from the Sichuan governments and the departments concerned. It is located in Jiulong County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province and is equipped with three 110MW Francis water turbine-generator units, with a total installed capacity of 330MW. It is so far the hydropower station with the largest installed capacity among those put into commercial operation in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
