June 13-16, 2013, entrusted by Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., Hydrochina Corporation organized a safety appraisal group composed of more than 10 experts to carry out the first site special safety appraisal for No. 2 water conveyance system of Jinping II HPP. The responsible persons from the Jinping Project Department of Hydrochina Huadong participated in the activity.

June 14, the experts inspected successively the project conditions of No. 2 headrace tunnel, No. 2 upstream surge chamber, the water gushing point at Chainage 9 +462 of No. 3 headrace tunnel, and listened to the introduction of the design and construction by the  construction parties concerned. June 15-16, the experts went over their self-checking reports, had discussion with personnel from Jinping Project Construction Management Bureauand Hydrochina Huadong, and put forward the requirements of amendment and supplement for the self-checking reports and made systematic arrangements for the work of the next phase.

Thus, the first site special safety appraisal was successfully completed and it laid a solid foundation for smooth water-filling for No. 2 water conveyance system at the end of this summer.
