At Longkaikou Hydropower Station for which Hydrochina Huadong undertakes engineering survey and design, 4^# Unit, after 72 hours of trial run, was successfully put into operation at 11:00 of Aug. 6, 2013. It is the third unit put into operation in this power station in three months and before this, 2# Unit and 1# Unit were put into operation in May and June respectively. At present, 1#, 2# and 4# Units have been delivered to Longkaikou Hydropower Station for commercial operation.

Longkaikou Hydropower Station is located in the Longkaikou Town, Heqing County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is the sixth cascade power station in the hydropower development program of 搊ne reservoir and eight cascade hydropower stations?on the middle reaches of the Jinsha River. It is mainly for power generation and concurrently for irrigation and water supply. The total reservoir capacity is 558 million m? With a total installed capacity of 1800MW, the power station houses five Francis turbine-generator units with unit capacity of 360MW, which are so far the Francis turbine-generator units with the largest runner diameter designed by Hydrochina Huadong and put into operation.
