Recently, Zhoushan Liuheng Water Affair Co., Ltd. completed the change of business registration, which has the seawater desalination demonstration project under the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology and one of the largest seawater desalination plants in China. Under the support and guidance of POWERCHINA and HYDROCHINA, through a year’s acquisition, Hydrochina Huadong has officially become the holding company of Zhoushan Liuheng Water Affair Co., Ltd., marking its formally setting foot in the emerging seawater desalination industry.

Zhoushan Liuheng Water Affair Co., Ltd.is located in Zhoushan Liuheng Island of Zhejiang Province. The island, with an area of ​​118 km² and a permanent population of over 100000, is the third largest island in Zhoushan Islands District. The Company, with a registered capital of RMB 200 million, has eight water supply plants (with total water supply capacity of 20,000 tons/day), 1 seawater desalination plant (planned capacity 100,000 tons/day, and the existing capacity 20,000 tons/day, the capacity of 10,000 tons/day under construction), 1 sewage treatment plant (planned capacity 18,000 tons/day, and existing capacity 9,000 tons/day), and the supporting island water supply and sewage pipe networks. It is the only water supply and drainage enterprise in Liuheng Development Zone.

Located in Zhoushan - the pilot city for development of national desalination industry, the Company has the largest desalination plant in East China Region, and has accumulated considerable experience in construction, operation, research of the desalination plant.
