The Fourth Session of Sino-Netherland Dynamic Tidal Power (DTP) Technical Cooperation Seminar was held on Apr. 3-4, 2014 in Hangzhou. As major technical supporter of the joint working group on China’s side, Hydrochina Huadong Engineering Corporation hosted this conference. The participants to the conference were from Dynamic Tidal Power Group of Netherland and the representatives from Hydropower and Water Resources Planning & Design General Institute, the Second Institute of Oceanography of State Oceanic Administration, etc.
The DTP is a brand new technology not yet practically in application. In the previous sessions, both sides reached cognitive consonance in principle and potential of DTP and the way of its economic analysis, etc., and initially identified the tidal energy sites in China for short-term study, the work plan and the job division. According to the job division, Hydrochina Huadong is responsible for taking the lead in economic analysis on DTP resources along the China’s coast. Based on the work outline for economic analysis determined in the previous sessions, the two sides discussed in-depth the interim achievements in water head digital-analog analysis, damsite and dam axis optimization, turbine characteristic parameter design, dam design and construction technologies, and identified the main tasks and schedule for the subsequent comprehensive economic analysis, which laid a solid base for achieving a substantial result in Sino-Netherland DTP technical cooperation.
