On the morning of June 17, 2014 (Vietnam local time), the rotor of the first unit of Song Bung 4 HPP was successfully hoisted and installed. The rotor hoisting weight of this project is 160 tons, so the 200t bridge crane provided by POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation was used for hoisting. The Project Owner, the Supervisor from the UK, and the staff from the Consortium attended the site rotor hoisting ceremony.

Song Bung 4 HPP with a total installed capacity of 2x78 MW is composed of two Francis turbine-generator units. It is the second Vietnamese electromechanical equipment supply project including installation of PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation. The successful rotor installation of the first unit marks a stage victory in project implementation and has accordingly laid a solid foundation for achieving the goal of power generation this year.
