After more than a year’s repeated negotiation and concerted efforts of the parties concerned, POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation finally signed the EPC Contract for China-aided Aba Samuel HPP in Ethiopia. It is the first China-aided EPC-based hydropower project of the Ministry of Commerce.

With a total installed capacity of 6.6MW, Aba Samuel HPP is a rehabilitation project by utilizing such existing facilities as the dam and powerhouse. The implementation of this project will fulfill the commitment of Chinese Government to African Countries, and gather experience in the innovation of management pattern for China-aided projects. By the EPC project, POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation will accumulate more experience in implementation of China-aided projects and set the stage for further expanding the African market.
