On August 21, 2014, the National Energy Administration approved the construction of Anhui Jinzhai Pumped Storage Power Station by issuing a written reply to the requisition of the said power station.

   The power station will be equipped with four 30MW vertical shaft single-stage reversible Francis turbine-generator units with a total installed capacity of 1200MW. The construction of the project is fully funded by State Grid Corporation of China, and the power station will be connected to Anhui power grid by 500kV voltage. It will enhance the peak load regulation capacity of Anhui power grid, optimize the power supply structure and perfect the operation conditions of the power grid, improve the operation economy of the power system and promote the local economic and social development.
