On September 2, 2014, the first unit of the rehabilitation project of Changdian Hydropower Station successfully passed 72-hour testrun and was put into commercial operation. The project is designed by Powerchina Huadong and constructed by Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 6 Co. Ltd. and Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 12 Co. Ltd. The smooth operation of the first unit indicates that the project intake built by means of the world’s largest underwater rock-plug blasting is a great success. The implementation of full-row borehole blasting for the water conveyance system fulfills important technological breakthrough for the world’s largest full-row borehole blasting.
