An experts’ consultation meeting was held on the acceptance of riverbed concrete dam and powerhouse foundation excavation of Se San 2 Hydropower Project in Stung Treng, Cambodia on 18—20 April 2015. The expert group reached a conclusion that “Subject to acceptance inspection of the unit works, the excavation quality is qualified, the acceptance information is complete, so it’s recommended that the foundation of the concrete dam and powerhouse of Se San 2 Hydropower Project should pass acceptance”, which marks that another significant milestone of Se San 2 Hydropower Project has been fulfilled ahead of schedule since construction commencement.

From the starting of site preparations for construction of the project in November 2013 to the end of April 2015, the special site access roads and the access bridge over the open diversion channel of Se San 2 Hydropower Project had been completed respectively. The earth dams on the left & right banks with a total length of 6.0 kilometers have been embanked above EL. 65.00m prior to the flood season, the open diversion channel had been completed by the end of last year and the flow passed smoothly on January 1, 2015. Both upstream and downstream cofferdams have been embanked to the elevation as required for flood control, the foundation excavation of both concrete dam and powerhouse has been fully completed, and the construction of the Owner’s camp is drawing to a close.
