On July 3, 2015 Turkey local time, the commissioning was completed for the second unit of Karakuz Hydropower Station and the unit was connected successfully to the power grid for power generation. On July 7, under the witness of the experts from the Ministry of Energy of Turkey, two units of the power station passed successfully various acceptance tests, and the provisional acceptance certificate of the project was issued to Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited immediately, thus, the project smoothly entered the warranty period.

Karakuz Hydropower Station is equipped with two 40.2MW six-nozzle Pelton turbine-generator units. It is the first equipment supply project including mechanical and electrical installation undertaken in the form of the Consortium established between Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited and a Turkey local installation company, KESIR. The supply and installation contract of full set of electrical and mechanical equipment was signed on May 31, 2012. In recent three years, Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited has given full play to its advantages of design and overall project management ability, overcome various difficulties such as high requirement of the standards of European countries, the work permission hard to obtain and high costs of the project, considered what the Owner considered, so that the project quality, progress and costs have been controlled in a very good way.

Karakuz Hydropower Station is the 4^th power project undertaken by Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited in Turkey hydropower market. At present, Turkish market has become the company’s main overseas market of full set of hydropower equipment supply, and all projects have been carried out in accordance with European technical standards, thus, laying a good foundation for its execution of overseas high-end market projects.
