On June 25, 2015, the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) was issued by the Owner for the Phase II (2) construction project of Cambodia Fiber Information Transmission Network, which marked the completion of the 1^st overseas communication project built by Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited—Phase II construction project of Cambodia Fiber Information Transmission Network. The completion of the project means that the core component of “Cambodia national broadband network program” has been successfully completed, and a complete coverage of optical network in the true sense has been realized.

The said project is a supplement and improvement to the state optical cable trunk line construction project of Cambodia national fiber communication transmission network and it is of vital significance to the informationization popularization in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The project mainly includes direct-buried cable laying and users’ coverage, the direct-buried cables are laid throughout Cambodia, while the users covered are mainly in some developed provinces and cities such as Phnom Penh, Battambang and Siem Reap. The project was implemented in two stages, the 1^st stage was involved in laying direct-buried optical cables for 1337 kilometers and a total of 127,000 users of optical fiber network, the actual construction period was from July 25, 2014 to December 10, 2014; and the 2^nd stage was involved in laying direct-buried optical cables for 963 kilometers and a total of 87,000 users of optical fiber network, and the actual construction period was from January 17, 2015 to May 20, 2015.

As the first overseas communication engineering EPC project of Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited to take an active part in the construction of “One Belt and One Road” and promote bilateral interconnection between China and Cambodia, the construction of the project received wide attention from the company. With the joint efforts of the Owner and the construction company, the EPC Project Department of Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited overcame various difficulties including long mileage of the project, more provinces and cities involved, and large workload of coordination, etc., as a result, the project was completed ahead of schedule.
