An academic seminar on Digital Technology and Practice of Hydro-engineering Geological Investigation was held by the 5^th Special Committee of Geology and Exploration of China Society for Hydropower Engineering in Nanning, Guangxi on 22-25 September. The representatives of engineering geological investigation specialty from Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (HDEC), such as Wang Jingyong, Ye Zhiping, Zhou Huixin, Zhou Chunhong and Huang Shiqiang, attended the seminar. At the seminar, Xue Cong, Dong Yufan, Di Shengjie, Ni Weida and Zhang Ling, etc. from HDEC gave exchange speeches about the geological 3D software modeling and application, classification study on offshore rock/soil mass, engineering geological characteristics of columnar basalt, and main engineering geological problems and treatment of gate foundation, which reflected the latest achievements of HDEC in above-mentioned research field. And extensive exchange and discussion were also made on the new technologies and new trends developed currently in hydropower engineering investigation.
