The Project Qualification Certificate of Aba Samuel Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project in Ethiopia was signed jointly by the Chinese and Ethiopian sides on November 17 and the project is of high quality. Thus, the project was officially put into commercial operation.

The China-aided Aba Samuel Hydropower Project in Ethiopia is the first hydropower station project of Ministry of Commerce constructed in EPC mode. Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited undertook the feasibility investigation and technical investigation assignments for the project and was responsible for the implementation of the project on EPC basis. The construction subcontractor is Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co., Ltd. The total construction duration is 24 months. The project construction was commenced in November 2014.
