Boali No. 1 Hydropower Station Rehabilitation Project Put into Commercial Operation

Unit 4 and Unit 5 of Boali No. 1 Hydropower Station Rehabilitation Project in the Central African Republic undertaken by Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited successively passed 72-hour testrun on Nov. 12 and Nov. 25, 2016. The units are in good operation and all parameters meet the contract requirements. The units have been successfully handed over to the Project Owner and put into commercial operation.

The Boali No. 1 Hydropower Project, located in Boali City, the Central African Republic, is a World Bank-loaned project. The scope of work of Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited includes design, supply and renovation and installation of five sets of turbines, speed governors, oil pressure installation of inlet valves, auxiliary systems and partial control equipment. Due to local war, the project was suspended from 2013 to 2015, and it was restarted until April 2016. The site project department overcame a number of difficulties such as local deficient materials, hard site construction and living conditions, great difficulty of the rehabilitation project as well as extremely instable power grid during testing. After the first unit was put into operation and connected to the grid in September this year, the staged victory was realized once again. The Project Owner highly affirmed Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited for its working attitude and achievements.
