Recently, China Electric Power Planning and Design Association issued Notice on Publishing 2016 Award Projects for Excellent Survey, Excellent Design, Excellent Standard Design and Excellent Computer Software of Power Industry (Thermal Power, Power Transmission and Transformation). Two offshore wind power projects designed by Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited won the first prize for excellent design, including CGN Rudong 150MW Offshore Wind Farm Demonstration Project, and CPIC Binhai North H1 100MW Offshore Wind Power Project.
CGN Rudong 150MW Offshore Wind Farm Demonstration Project, a national demonstration project, creates a number of “first” in China, including the first offshore wind farm with “dual-ten” (i.e., 10m water depth and 10km offshore), the first offshore substation, the first application of new technology and process offshore including mono-pile foundation without transition section, integrated cage structure and large-area sand cushion erosion prevention measure. This project won 8 awards of the provincial and ministry levels and subject to the appraisal of State Scientific and Technological Commission, a number of outcomes of the project have reached domestic advanced level.
CPIC Binhai North H1 100MW Offshore Wind Power Project is located in the offshore sea area between the Zhongshan River estuary in the north of Binhai and Binhai Port. During construction, design optimization was conducted for the patented technology of Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited, “Large-diameter Mono-pile Foundation without Grouting Connection Section”, in consideration of the unique engineering geological conditions in China. Consequently, the consumption of steels was reduced and remarkable social and economic benefits were achieved. In addition, it becomes the offshore wind power project with the shortest construction period and the lowest cost of single wind turbine generator in China.
