March 29, 2012, Turkey, the Project Owner of Burcbendi Hydropower Project (HPP), AKKUR ENERJ? issued the Final Acceptance Certificate of the project to HYDROCHINA HUADONG who undertook the supply and installation of complete E&M (electrical and mechanical) equipment for the project. This marks not only the successful completion of the project but a good beginning for the company to expand its business in Turkey.  

With a total installed capacity of 27MW, Burcbendi HPP is equipped with three 9MW axial flow Kaplan turbine-generator units. It is the first project undertaken by HYDROCHINA HUADONG in Europe to provide supply and installation of the complete E&M equipment. The work scope contracted by HYDROCHINA HUADONG includes the overall process of the services containing design, supply, transportation, installation, testing and acceptance of the E&M equipment. The execution of the contract spurred on the export of E&M equipment made in China. The construction of the project was started on January 7, 2008. From then on, relying on its strength and experience in design and integral project management, HYDROCHINA HUADONG had provided quality project management which was highly appraised by the Project Owner and the cooperators. After providing services such as design, procurement, supply and installation of the equipment for over two years, the project was put into commercial operation on November 3, 2010 after it passed the acceptance organized by Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey on the same day. The actual construction period was one month ahead of the schedule. The Project Owner issued the Temporary Acceptance Certificate (TAC) for the project on November 29, 2010. During the subsequent quality guarantee period, the equipment supplied by HYDROCHINA HUADONG has been working in good and stable condition and hence satisfied the requirements of the contract. Thereafter, the Final Acceptance Certificate of the project was issued by the Project Owner on March 29, 2012. The success of the project marks the services provided by HYDROCHINA HUADONG including the construction technologies and quality fully meet the European standards with oppressive requirements and has accordingly laid a foundation for its business expansion in Europe.
