The hydrostatic tests in all operation modes were completed for homemade B780CF high strength steel manifold in the Hydraulic Machinery Plant of SINOHYDRO BUREAU 14 CO., LTD. Based on the manifold prototype of Xianju Pumped Storage Project, the test model for steel manifold was designed and fabricated by 1:2.5 normal model. The large-scale tests were completed through concerted efforts of the parties concerned. The steel plates and welding materials were provided by the Baosteel Group Corporation; model fabrication and installation were conducted by the Mechanical and Electrical Installation Branch under SINOHYDRO BUREAU 14 CO., LTD; model welding seam detection and the hydrostaic tests were carried out by Zhengzhou Mechanical Design Institute; model design, stress and deformation calculation and analysis were performed by HYDROCHINA HUADONG and Zhejiang University.
The tests offered not only agreat deal of valuable data but also theoretical and practical experience for design and application of homemade 800MPa high strength steel manifold, and upgraded HYDROCHINA HUADONG’s technical level in the design field of high-pressure pipeline as well.
