May 14—16, 2012, a mission from National Energy Administration (NEA), headed by Liu Qi, NEA deputy director and Wang Jun, director of NEA New Energy and Renewable Energy Department, visited the sites of Jinzhai and Jixi pumped storage power stations (PSP) in Anhui, with accompany of the leaders of Hydrochina Huadong, including Chen Yining, the Party committee secretary, Jiang Zhongjian, deputy chief engineer and director of Hydrochina Huadong’s Pumped Storage Engineering Design Institute, Peng Liuping, chief engineer of the Institute and Zheng Qifeng, project chief engineer, as well as the site geologists.
Jiang Zhongjian and Peng Liuping made a presentation to the mission on the two power stations regarding the project progress so far, development condition, installed capacity, general layout, construction period and project investment. Liu Qi paid much attention to the development condition, environmental protection, resettlement of the two power stations and the local economic development. At the Jixi PSP site, Liu Qi showed particular concern for combining the tourism planning into the project development, hoping the construction of the power station to further promote the local tourism development.
Jinzhai PSP (1200MW) is located in Zhangchong Township, Jinzhai County, Anhui Province. The pre-feasibility study report has been completed and passed examination. At present, the feasibility study of the project is underway. Jixi PSP (1800MW) is located in Fuling Town, Jixi County, Anhui Province. In early May, the project application report of Jixi PSP passed evaluation organized by China International Engineering Consulting Corporation, and the project is now in the tendering and construction drawing design stage.
