On the morning of April 28, 2012, President Zhang Chunsheng met with the   delegation headed by Greg Bentley, the president of USA Bentley Corporation. Some leaders attended the interview, including Zhang Xiuli, chief engineer of the Large Dam Safety Supervision Center(LDSSC), Wang Jinfeng, deputy chief engineer of HydroChina Huadong, Chen Jian, director of Digital Engineering Center and Li hu, director of Information Technology Center.

 While looking to the application prospect of 3D technology, President Zhang pointed out that if this technology was merely applied in the field of engineering design, only part of its value could be realized; however more of its additional values should be reflected in project construction, safe operation and management of large dams and so on, which is the very embodiment of the project life cycle management. He believed that there was a great potential in this sector and it was necessary for us to cooperate and develop actively to seize the preemptive market opportunities.

Mr. Greg Bentley expressed his sincere gratitude to HydroChina Huadong for its continuous trust and support to Bentley Corporation. He also admired the great achievements HydroChina Huadong had made in the field of engineering 3D technology and indicated that Bentley Corporation highly valued the business development in the Asian-Pacific region, especially in China. He said, on the one hand, the company would send a corporate vice president to reside in Beijing and take charge of technical supports in construction, factory and electrical aspects; on the other hand, the company promised to increase its Chinese staff from the current 170 to around 1000 so as to facilitate its technical support work in Chinese market.

When talking about the future development orientation of Bentley’s products, Mr. Greg Bentley highly agreed with President Zhang’s opinion on the future of 3D technology. He mentioned that in the future the products of Bentley would put more emphasis on an “openness” concept, which will support multiple operating systems and various hardware platforms and enable users to obtain engineering information and data through mobile devices. In addition, Mr. Greg Bentley also introduced the potential of applying laser spot cloud technology in the field of engineering safety monitoring. At the meeting, chief engineer Zhang Xiuli introduced LDSSC routine business to Mr. Greg Bentley. And Greg Bentley expressed his wish to strengthen technical cooperation with LDSSC.
