June 12, 2012, after intense preparations, construction of Qiushi Expressway Phase III Project (South Shide Interchange– Qingjianglu Interchange Section) was officially commenced, for which HydroChina Huadong undertakes engineering design. The construction site at Qiutao Road saw a grand commencement ceremony. The secretary of Hanzhou Municipal Party Committee, Mr. Huang Kunming and other leaders were present and made speeches at the ceremony.

The project is an integral part of Qiushi Expressway – that is “one longitudinal road” of “Three longitudinal roads and five transverse roads” of Hangzhou Expressway Network System. It is around 6.2 km long, the width of the standard road section is 25m wide, and the elevated two-way six-lane road scheme is adopted. The ground road will basically maintain the status quo, namely, 50m in width and two-way six-lane in the trunk road. The gross investment of the project is around 2.96 billion RMB Yuan and the total construction period is about two years. Two interchanges and six pairs of ramps will be arranged for the project.
