Local time June 13, 2012, in witness of the Project Owner, all wet tests were smoothly completed for the first unit (2# Unit) of Turkey FEKE-I Hydropower Station. At six past fifteen, the unit was connected to the Grid with load and all indicators of the unit were satisfactory.
Located in Adana city, Turkey and close to the Mediterranean Sea, FEKE-I Hydropower Station is in the same river basin as FEKE-II Hydropower Project also contracted by HydroChina Huadong. It has a total installed capacity of 32.4MW and houses two Francis turbine-generator units.
The cooperation pattern, i.e., the local Turkish electro-mechanical(M&E) installation companies carried out construction with the guidance of the Chinese professionals, was adopted for the project for the first time. With the support from leaders at all levels and other departments and through concerted efforts of all manufacturers and M&E installation companies as well as collaborations of all relevant personnel involved in the project, grid-connection for commercial operation of the first unit was approximately 30 days ahead of the construction schedule under the Contract. Therefore, the project has achieved a significant staged victory.
