September 20, 2012, after hard negotiations, Hydrochina Huadong cooperated with Hydropower Corporation in successfully signing the EPC contract for Sapphire Wind Farm with Sapphire Wind Power Company Limited (SWPCL) in Lahore, the third largest city of Pakistan.

The Sapphire Project is located in the northeast of Karachi City, Sindh Province, about 135 km to Karachi. The project will be equipped with thirty-three 1.5MW WTGs. The work scope includes civil works, installation and equipment supply and covers the whole process work from design, purchase, construction, installation, tests, debugging to handover after completion. The total construction period of the project is 15 months.

This project is another success of Hydrochina Huadong in Pakistan market under the leadership and support of Hydrochina Corporation and by continuous market development over recent three years. Currently, Hydrochina Corporation has decided on Hydrochina Huadong as the specific implementation company for EPC work of the project.
