Recently, the Longkaikou HPP on the Jinsha River, which was designed by Hydrochina Huadong Engineering Corporation, successfully passed acceptance before reservoir impoundment. The acceptance conference was convened by Hydropower and Water Resources Planning and Design General Institutejointly with Yunnan Development and Reform Commission and Energy Bureau and other departments concerned on 10-13 November 2012. Chen Zhengxiong, vice president of Hydrochina Huadong, together with relevant personnel of the Longkaikou Project Department, attended the conference as representatives of the engineering design company.

The participants listened to the reports concerning the project acceptance work made by the engineering construction companies and the design company, the report made by Hydrochina Corporation on main safety appraisal conclusions of the reservoir impoundment, and the comments of the acceptance expert panel. Finally, the Appraisal Certificate for Acceptance before Reservoir Impoundment of Longkaikou HPP on the Jinsha River came into being. The conference thought that the Longkaikou HPP had got conditions for reservoir impoundment, and agreed that the reservoir impoundment of the project would be conducted in mid November of 2012. Consequently, it laid a solid foundation for the power generation of the first unit at the end of 2012.
