With the guidance and help of Department of Commerce and Construction Department of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang International Contractors Association was officially established on May 9, 2012. The first executive council of the association is composed of 17 enterprises engaged in international project contracting and enjoying good reputation in Zhejiang, such as Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., HYDROCHINA HYUADONG Engineering Corporation, China United Engineering Corporation, and Zhongtian Construction Group Co., Ltd., etc. There are 81 member enterprises (exclusive those in Ningbo City). Mr. Zhang Chunsheng, the president of HYDROCHINA HUADONG, attended the meeting on invitation and Mr. Duan Xiaoping, vice president of HYDROCHINA HUADONG, was elected as the vice chairman of the association. 

As a provincial, industrial and non-profit social organization, the association is duly constituted under the laws and willingly by the enterprises and social organizations engaged in foreign project contracting, labor cooperation, project investment and the provision of related services. It represents the industry and has the legal person’s qualification of social organization. Its main functions include: to set up a bridge between the member enterprises and the government, to bring the communication channel into play; to link the upstream and downstream industrial chains and play a role in resource integration; to safeguard the lawful rights and interests of the enterprises “going global” and participating in the international market and to play its protective role.
