The First National BIM Technical Exchange Forum of Municipal Industry Held by ECIDI-Bentley China Engineering Software Research Center in Hangzhou City

The first ‘National BIM Technical Exchange Forum of Municipal Industry” was held successfully by ECIDI-Bentley China Engineering Software Research Center (“the Center”) in Hangzhou City from Apr. 16 to 18, 2018. As another high-level technical experience exchange platform in the domestic engineering digitalization field following the “Technical Exchange Forum for 3D Collaborative Design” held annually by the Center, the forum is aimed at promoting the digital application development of domestic municipal engineering infrastructures and creating an industry alliance to co-cultivate and co-develop a digital ecosphere. Over 300 executives, experts and designers from over 110 design research units and research institutes in the municipal industry all over the country participated in the forum.

In the forum, Wang Jinfeng, IT Director of Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (ECIDI), and Liu Desheng, Senior Vice President of Bentley, delivered a welcome speech respectively; Li Xiang, Technical Director of Bentley, delivered a keynote speech titled “Towards Digitalization: Exploring the Value of Engineering Data”; Chen Jian, Technical Director of ECIDI Information Center, gave a theme report on the digitalization history and R&D achievements of ECIDI, while Yang Chunqiang, Reality Modeling Sales Manager of Bentley, gave a theme report on the BIM application solutions of Bentley’s reality modeling technology; and the engineering team from ECIDI Information Center introduced the R&D products of ECIDI’s municipal engineering localization successively and shared corresponding cases.

The forum consisted of three sub-forums of municipal and utility tunnel technology, reality modeling technology and water treatment technology. Participants introduced their latest research and application achievements, shared valuable practical experience and carried out heated discussion and exchange on the development of municipal BIM technology deeply.
