Wind Turbine on the 120m Reinforced Concrete Tower Developed by ECIDI Independently Combined to the Grid Smoothly

On Apr.14, 2018, a prototype of wind turbine on the 120m reinforced concrete tower developed by ECIDI independently was combined to the grid smoothly.

Located at the No.10 position of the Jiujiang Jiuyunling Wind Farm Project Phase II invested by Zhongtianwanhe Energy Investment Co., Ltd., the prototype of Windey WD115-2000 type is installed on a tower with a 120m-high wheel hub, whose lower part is a 45m-high cast-in-place concrete tower and whose upper part a 75m-high steel tower. The concrete tower and the steel tower are connected with prestressed steel strands and anchor bolts. The wind turbine foundation is a hollow disc one and cast with the concrete tower body in place in an overall way. The project is an important part of our scientific research subject Technical Research on Structure of Concrete Tower, which has brought up with many innovative concepts and completed the innovative designs of hollow wind turbine foundation, integrated leveling system, reverse connecting flange etc. independently. Additionally, in terms of construction, the project has introduced the sliding mode technology into the construction of concrete tower body for the first time, raising the construction speed, lowering down the overall construction costs of tower and improving the competitiveness in time and economic costs.

In recent years, the reinforced concrete tower is a new product launched by the domestic wind power industry for low wind speed regions. It features a high wheel hub, high structural stiffness and high natural frequency, no loss of generated energy due to “frequency cross-over” and matching the “low wind speed and high shear” characteristics of low wind speed regions perfectly, having significant impacts on the domestic onshore wind power development and attracting wind turbine manufacturers to introduce the foreign technology. In the context, ECIDI formed a concrete tower research team based on its actual conditions to develop the concrete tower technology independently and has completed many innovative designs. The smooth implementation of the project is another successful try and innovation made by ECIDI in the new wind turbine tower field, expanding its wind power project design scope and improving its core competitiveness in the onshore wind power field.
