Job Description

Engineering production:

•   Prepare engineering deliverable plan to suit to project schedule (EPC or tenders)

•   Develops and applies advanced engineering solutions to complex problems associated with Geotechnical, Hydrology, Climatic (Wind, Seismic, Floods etc.,) , Structural configurations.

•   Performs research and develops recommendations for foundation systems, structural designs ( RCC and Steel), land development schemes.

•   Reviews sub consultants designs , reports inline with specifications and international standards.

•   Ensure engineering deliverables with high quality as per departmental operating procedure and guidelines.

•   Co-ordination & Meeting: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

•   Attending meetings with potential clients and provide technical understanding of our offering for the project and other options that can be considered.

•   Responsible for identification of key client interests and drivers on projects.

•   Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on projects.

•   Focuses on client's current needs and situations.

•   Typically provides support to business development or pursuit activities. 

Engineering Standards:

•   Proactively provides guidance and direction to developing professionals on department design guides, standards, systems and applicable engineering codes.

•   Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.

•   Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with quality program.

•   Establishes related processes, and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.

•   Provides guidance and direction to others.

•   Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.

•   Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams.

•   Supports multiple projects on the technical challenges.

•   Provide technical advice regarding Civil engineering related works of Renewable energy power generation , distribution and transmission design and related studies.

Administrative:

•   Administrative responsibilities may include office administration.

•   Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for work group.

•   Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs. 

Functional competencies & Job knowledge:

•   Computer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & AutoCAD.

•   Knowledge of design tools such as STAAD Pro / ETABS /  SAFE / TEKLA Structures / REVIT  and Equivalent software's which supports 3D environment and Finite Element Analysis like ANSYS / ABAQUS.

•   Familiar with International codes such as Eurocodes, American codes and any other international standards.

•   Familiar in PV and Wind power generation equipment foundations , Electrical substations and transmission lines civil related works.

•   Review/Prepare RCC designs, steel structural designs and layout preparations for earthworks and drainage systems for the large plant areas.

•   Knowledge on preparation of Bill, of Material, Request for Proposal & Request for Quotation.

•   Preparation/review of technical specifications and review of tender specifications.

•   Visiting sites during tendering stages and preparation of site visit reports including feasibility and risks associated with the topography , hydrology and accessibility.

•   Preparation of detailed BOQ for civil related works with preliminary designs as per the tender / developer requirements.

•   Design & Drafting of PV and wind power generation Equipment foundations, substation building , operation and maintenance building , security building , Indoor and Outdoor electrical equipment foundations, firewalls, fences , trenches , racks etc.,

•   Monitoring site related activities and attending review meetings with Owners and other stake holders.

•   Review & Approval of Manufacturers/Vendor/Subcontractors Techno-Commercial Offers, Drawings & Documentations related to the products and services. Essential characteristics:

Job Requirements

Any applications of the candidates with the following skill, proficiency and qualification are all welcomed:

•  Bachelor’s degree in engineering specialized in Civil / Structural engineering;

•  Knowledge of civil engineering, civil analysis & design software’s, estimations and preparation of BOQ and preparation/review of specifications / method statements for site applications.

•  Know-how to apply design standards, codes and regulations in relation to civil engineering, e.g., BS-EN, ASTM , ASCE, IBC;

•  Excellent command of English language.

•  Aptitude for using different languages in addition to English is preferred.

•  Understanding the positions and tradeoffs in contract negotiation;

•  Specialized analytical skills in drafting technical proposal;

•  Interest in creating the digital transformation practice;

•  Working experience in bidding team, project management organization, government authority and national grid;

•  Ability to coordinate overlapping projects and deadlines, and to multitask in a time-sensitive atmosphere.
