Inaugural Ceremony of the 1,700-House Project Construction in Hulhumalé, Maldives

The inaugural ceremony of the 1,700-house project construction in Hulhumalé, Maldives was held on March 10th. Mohamed Aslam, Maldives Minister of Planning, Aminath Athifa, Maldives Minister of Housing and Construction, Xiong Lixin, Deputy General Manager of Powerchina International Group Limited and General Manager of Euro Asia Headquarter, and representatives from HDEC attended the event. Hundreds of local Maldivian officials, owners, employees and citizens from Hulhumalé also participated in the ceremony.


The Maldives Minister of Planning said in his speech that the 1,700-house project in Hulhumalé, Maldives was the first housing construction project of the current government of Maldives which symbolized close friendship and a promising future between the two countries. He was grateful to the efforts contributed by Powerchina, as well as Chinese Embassy in Maldives for their strong support. He hoped that Powerchina could continue to carry forward the spirit of perseverance, and ensure to complete the project in high quality on time.


The project is located on Hulhumalé Island, Maldives, consisted of 11 buildings with a total of 1,700 houses. The project, contracted by Sinohydro Corporation Limited which also assisted in financing, designed and constructed by HDEC, is a key project developed in Maldives.
