On April 20, the Beizhijiang Water Sports Center, the competition venue for rowing, canoeing, and other water sports in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, passed the completion acceptance. In combination with the Beizhi River Improvement Project, the venue is a key project of Zhejiang Province, and it was contracted by POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (HDEC) by means of PPP+EPC. The project fully taps the humanistic connotation of landscape, to show the world the style and features of Hangzhou as a wave rider and build a brand-new business card.

The venue is located on south bank of the Beizhi River, Dongzhou Sub-district Office, Fuyang District, Hangzhou City, covering a floor area of about 67,000 square meters. It is provided with six functional blocks, including service management, media release, sports events management and boathouse as well as two water racetracks, including rowing and canoeing. Seventy gold medals of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and Hangzhou 2020 Asian Para Games will come from here.

According to the international standards and on the basis of meeting the needs of all kinds of international sports events, the design of venue adheres to the concept of being "Green, Smart, Frugal and Civilized" and follows the architectural style of green ecology, low carbon and harmony. The venue is perfectly combined with the surrounding buildings and landscapes, and the top is covered with soil to create a "sky garden” which is integrated with the natural landscapes. The venue provides citizens and tourists with a good place to enjoy the landscape of Fuyang, and give full play to the publicity and urbanity of venue.

HDEC has undertaken the construction of many Asian Games venues for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, such as the "Canoe" and "Kayak Slalom" competition center, table tennis hall, hockey hall, "judo and wrestling" competition center, etc. At present, these venues are under construction, which will guarantee the success of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
