Israel, April 24 – The groundbreaking ceremony of Hayarkon-Rokach Bridge and Reading Station of LRT Green Line Project was successfully held in the South Camp of Tel Aviv, which means the project officially enters the construction period.

Tel Aviv municipal government, Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd. (NTA), Xinhua News Agency reporter Wang Zhuolun, CCTV reporter Sun Lingli, Representative Office of POWERCHINA Israel, POWERCHINA HDEC, Sinohydro Bureau 5 and other units attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, the CEO of NTA delivered a speech, emphasizing that "putting down a cornerstone today is a significant milestone on the way to establishing the green line rail network"; The CEO of the green line project also mentioned that "this project is one of the Seven Bridges on the green line, it is challenging but it will also make a great contribution to the well-being of public transport".

The project, undertaken by the Joint Venture of Sinohydro Bureau 5 and HDEC, is located in the north of Tel Aviv, as the part of the phase II project of Tel Aviv LRT connecting the north and south area with the downtown. It is one of the important livelihood projects in the urban transportation planning of the Israeli government and has been highly concerned by the Tel Aviv municipal government. The project contains all the sections above ground, namely Hayarkon - Rokach Bridge (with a total length of 620m), Yakong River pedestrian overpass (with a total length of 240m) and Reading Station (ground station with a construction area of 2400m²). This project is a new breakthrough for POWERCHINA after entering the Israeli infrastructure market, an important achievement for POWERCHINA to continue to base the high-end market after conducting the Israeli highway 2 project, and also a new practice for POWERCHINA to deeply integrate into the local urban planning and construction in Israel.

At the end of the ceremony, the chief executive officer of Tel Aviv municipal government, the chief executive officer of NTA and the project manager jointly completed the ribbon cutting and foundation laying ceremony, witnessed by all parties. The groundbreaking ceremony of the project has received the attention and encouragement of the participating units and all sectors of society. Inspired by the support, the project team has been greatly boosted the enthusiasm following the enterprise spirit of “Responsible, Efficiency and Excellence”, and will go all out to meet the difficulties and write a new chapter in the overseas market in the future.
