On 4 June, local time, the groundbreaking ceremony of Pakistan Nabisar Vajihar Water Supply Project has been held successfully in Sindh, Dubai. The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Abdullah Al-Mutairi, the CEO of Enertech unveil for the project. The Business Counselor, the minister of Irrigation Department of Sindh, the Minister of Department of Energy, the Minister of Education Department, and other officials of Kuwait Embassy in Pakistan participate the groundbreaking ceremony. At the same time, leaders and staff of HDEC in Euraisa region, Zhejiang Huadong Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd., and Performance Support Center also have attended this ceremony.

On the ceremony, the Chief Minister of Sindh shows the welcome and thanks to investors of Kuwait and the EPC contractor, PowerChina. He then points out that he attaches attention to this project, as after finishing this project, it will provide industrial water for Thar Coal Power Project which belongs to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Program and domestic water for local people. It will play an important role in helping Thar Coal Power Project running smoothly and steadily. Finally, the Minister also states that under the efforts of the government of Sindh, Enertech and PowerChina, this project definitely will complete successfully. In addition, Abdullah, the CEO of Enertech, also appreciates Sindh government’s support and says that Enertech will continue to invest in many other industries in Pakistan.

Pakistan Nabisar Vajihar 45 CUSECS Water Supply Project locates in Thar, Sindh. The scope of work is the construction of a 129,600 m³/d water plant, two reservoirs (starting reservoir 5.71 million m³ and ending reservoir 3.52 million m³) and a single 1.4 m diameter pipe with a total length of 60.71 km of glass reinforced plastic pipes. The project is the largest PPP project in Sindh, and it will bring 6,000 people to work in the surrounding areas, which has significant social benefits.

This project is the first independently marketed water EPC project in Pakistan of HDEC, and is the largest water EPC project of what have ever done by HDEC, as well as the first breakthrough in water projects in Pakistan and even in the Eurasian region for HDEC. Therefore, it will greatly promote the diversified development of overseas operations of HDEC. The groundbreaking ceremony has been focused by Pakistan local medias, including many paper medias and network medias have reported this ceremony on their Facebook pages, which is helpful for broaden HDEC’s influence on engineering market in Pakistan.
