On 22 June 2022, the owner of Kumasi City Inner Roads EPC project of Selected Roads and Interchanges in Ghana Phase 1 Lot 2 (hereinafter referred to as Lot 2) and representatives of supervisor unit arrive at the project site of KW4-NYANKYERANEASE-APRE that located in KWDASO area to have a check before its commencement. After checking the site, Mr. Francis, the director of Department of Urban Roads in Ashanti Region announces the commencement of permanent works of Lot 2 project.

Mr. Francis take a visit to temporary works of the project, and are full praise for the progress and quality, wishing that the project could be successfully implement.

Lot2 project, whose total length is 87.76km, is located in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana. The main work for Lot 2 project is upgrading side roads in main city and connecting roads among residential areas, therefore, the surroundings of project site is complex. This project is the longest one among ten sections in phase 1 of Selected Roads and Interchanges projects, and is also the first transportation EPC project operated by HDEC independently.

The ground-breaking ceremony was held on 25 March 2022. After commencement, the project was influenced by Covid-19 and Russo-Ukrainian War, so the cost of elements, human resources and logistics are increased. Under the support of the leadership and relevant departments, the project Department integrated resources, timely supplemented weak links and ensured the first batch of construction drawings are available, therefore, the permanent project was commenced on time.

As the commencement of the permanent works on site shows that the blueprint will come true soon, staff are encouraged by the beginning of new step. Although it is tough to get through bad effects, staff of project department overcomes these difficulties and keeps collaborate with each parties with the spirit of “responsible, efficient, excellence”, ensuring projects implement smoothly.
