At 11:00 of December 14, 2022 GST, a good news from project department: the first WTG was successfully installed on the Sir Bani Yas island, which means one step closer to the handover of the first wind power project in UAE.

The UAE Wind Power Project was developed by the Crown Prince Court in Abu Dhabi. Prince Court and commissioned by Masdar, is the first demonstration wind power project in the UAE, and is a symbolic project in the UAE and the Gulf region. The total capacity of the project is 117.5MW, which is combined by 23 sets of GW-155 4.5MW WTG located on Sir Bani Yas island, Delma island, Sila island and Al Halah island, and a 14MW solar power system. The environment of project site especially Sir Bani Yas island and Delma island is tough, causing the project team face a series challenges.

In order to overcome difficulties and challenges, the project department set a command team to solve problems. Transportation: the whole process of transportation and loading is supervised by professional engineers and third party. Installation: planning a scheme of installation WTG and coordinate. As it is the wind season, staff have to stay on the island to make sure the installation work complete successfully.

The success of installation was appreciated by the owner, and also give staff some experience and confidence. The whole team of UAE wind power project will go straight forward with the spirit of “site is the battlefield, site is the market” and make sure the handover of this project can be on time.
