30 March 2023, Highway 2 expansion project in Israel completed and the road is fully opened. It shows that the performance mission of Highway 2 in Israel that undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 5 and HDEC Joint Venture has been completed and achieved the goal of 12 months ahead of schedule.

The project locates on the west of Israel, and is next to the Mediterranean. Highway 2, an important coastal highway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, aims to promote the economic development of these two cities. The expansion project means that POWERCHINA for the first time enters the highway construction industry in Israel. The project scope includes 13.5 km highway expansion project, 3 flyovers, a river-crossing bridge, an overpass for pedestrian and 2 animal corridors and landscape projects along the highway. During the period of construction, a lot of issues such as Covid-19 Pandemic, Russia-Ukraine War, and Pakistan-Israel conflicts. The project team try to improve traditional techniques and solve problems appeared during construction period and shorten the time successfully.

It is the first road construction project undertaken by foreign-owned enterprise in Israel. Although there are a lot of difficulties, HDEC is still existing the spirit of “Responsibility, Efficiency, Excellence” with the help of POWERCHINA and colleagues of HDEC. It builds a foundation for POWERCHINA in the market of Israel.
