The Foundation Concrete Pouring Work of Wind Turbine Successfully Completed

At 7:00 a.m. local time in Egypt on September 5, 2024, the foundation concrete pouring work of Wind Turbine No. T70 of the 500MW Amunet Wind Power Project in Egypt was successfully completed. Thus, the concrete pouring work of 77 wind turbines of the 500MW Amunet Wind Power Project contracted by  has come to a successful conclusion. With the achievement of this milestone, the project construction has fully moved into the wind turbine hoisting stage, providing a strong guarantee for the subsequent on-time grid connection and power generation.


 

The Amunet 500MW Wind Power Project in Egypt is located 300 kilometers southeast of Cairo. It is the largest wind power project currently under construction by HDEC in Africa and also the largest single-unit wind power project in Egypt at present. As one of the important projects in the new energy field in Egypt, the total installed capacity of the Amunet project in Egypt reaches 500MW. After the project is completed, it will effectively increase the supply of clean energy in Egypt, contribute to the development of the local renewable energy industry, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a strong guarantee for alleviating the current power shortage in Egypt.


 

Since the project was launched, it has overcome a series of difficulties such as the strict access conditions of the military administrative area, dry and high temperatures, and seasonal strong winds. At the same time, by formulating detailed construction plans in advance, arranging construction processes reasonably, and allocating personnel and equipment resources, strengthening quality control and acceptance processes, the project team has achieved double leadership in construction progress and quality. Especially in the process of submitting the drawings of large-scale international new energy projects for review, facing the multi-party approval of the project owner, supervisor and third-party consulting units, the project team has closed each issue raised by all parties through methods such as recalculation, modeling and expert evaluation.


 

Facing the local high-temperature climate conditions, the project team adopted reasonable and strict control measures to ensure the temperature control of concrete during the construction process. At the same time, the team continuously strengthened communication and collaboration with the property owner and the supervision party, anticipated and timely solved potential problems, and finally ensured the smooth and successful completion of the basic construction of the project.


With the successful completion of the foundation pouring of all 77 wind turbines for the Amunet 500MW Wind Power Project in Egypt, the project has received high recognition from the owner and injected solid confidence into the subsequent construction work and the on-time delivery of the project. The project department will continue to give full play to the professional advantages and resources of Huadong Engineering in technical design, construction management, safety control, and hoisting technology.
