The Hoisting of First Wind Turbine of Wind Power Project in Azerbaijan Successfully Completed
Date:2024-11-25

At 7 a.m. on November 23, 2024, the final blade of Wind Turbine No. 7 in the Gobustan site of the 240MW wind power project in Azerbaijan was successfully spliced, marking the successful completion of the hoisting work of the first wind turbine and also indicating that the project has entered a new stage.

This project is the first large-scale wind power project implemented by Chinese enterprises in Azerbaijan, with a total installed capacity of 240MW. The project adopts Vestas 6.5MW wind turbines, with the hub height of the wind turbines being approximately 100 meters and the blades being as long as 84 meters. The logistics of this project needs to cross multiple countries, with the longest onshore transportation distance reaching 10,000 kilometers. In addition, the variable climate conditions in the project area have brought great challenges to the project. Since the hoisting work started on November 12th, in the face of challenges such as strong winds and rainfall, the project team arranged the hoisting time reasonably according to the wind speed forecast and safely and smoothly completed the hoisting of the first wind turbine.

On the occasion of the successful hoisting of the first wind turbine, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the leaders and professional teams at all levels of HDEC for their support for this project. In the future, the project team will redouble its efforts, continue to advance the installation and commissioning of the subsequent wind turbines, adhere to high-quality performance and ensure the timely completion of the project.
